NatureCare Pix!

Just thought I would post up some pictures of some of my lawns. The first couple are of Stepen Covey Jr's place, two acres of grass, Stephen Covey Sr. put up those regulation size goal posts and soccer goals as house warming gifts when they moved in. Anyway pretty cool stuff, enjoy!

I could go on for DAYS. I seriously have one million more. But until then, this should hold you over.

Things that I remember:

I don’t even know where to start:

Joni’s high pony tails when she was little and doing Joni’s hair as we walked to the bus. Trying to get Leaf and Joyce to change our bus stop to the corner because it was too far to walk to the Bennett’s or to the Fort sign. This was a big deal, but come on seriously!

Yelling through the vent for people. Taking naps underneath the kitchen tables and sitting on the microwave whilst the food was cooking and probably the radiation from it cooked our insides.

Playing in the blanket closet. I loved that place. Pulling the mirror out from underneath our bed and pretending that I lived on the ceiling, I would do this for hours.

Writing mom notes to ask her if I could play with her doll that was on the shelf in her closet and then breaking it when she finally gave in.

Sleeping on the sheep skin rug when you where scared. Never wanting to sleep in the day bed because it looked into the front room and there were scary things in there at night. My imagination was very good and Tanis will attest to the fact that there were wolves that lived in there.

Watching cartoons on Saturdays in the basement but our feet had to be touching the T.V and spilling our cereal all over the floor and the floor stinking.

Singing “Stop and Listen” and “Celebrating the Light” to Joni every night. Sleeping in the middle, being the barrier between Joni who would maul me and me not being able to touch Tanis at all. Try to accomplish that with three people in a queen size bed. And always being the Tent pole because Tanis made me.

Getting Easter Dresses and loving that black and white dress that had puffed sleeves like Anne of Green Gables. My shirt that had the colors spelled out with sequins and my zebra leggings that went with it.

Rich chasing me up the stairs and me sticking my leg out at the very end to smack him right in the mouth. He bit his tongue so hard. Still a good move! Get’s him every time.

Richard and I running around the house, riding the cushions down the stairs in our Superman and Wonder woman pajamas.

Taunting the Roster at the Condies house and playing in the basement with the little chicks.

Throwing those little green apples at each other. Playing mean momma outside. Tyler trying to shoot a piece a chewed bubble gum on the patio with his 22 and it rickashading and hitting me in the stomach. Grounded!

Duke biting Penni’s ear. Those huts we use to make on the swingset with moms afghans’. Stretching them to the max. Dukes, caves and Richard running for his life after setting down the food.

Me crushing rocks on the gas station patio out back. Looking for diamonds in the middle, finally finding one and giving it to Brooke and she lost it. 5 years of searching down the drain.

Building countless huts, Tanis smashing the heck out of her finger with the hammer, us running down the hill trying to fix it without mom finding out. Kevin screaming at us to get out of the hut behind Valeras place. The scary creamery that HAD MY NAME IN IT!!!!!! Along with devil worshiping stuff. GooD!

Brooke and I going to the store for mom, realizing that we forgot the paper towels (the thing that mom told us not to forget) devising a plan which was to pretend that we were on a scavenger hut and ask Norma if she had any. She did. We are to smart!!!!!

This is a gross one but we all did it. Pooped and peed behind the bushes at the church because we couldn’t hold it until we got home. AHAHAHA Why we didn’t just go to the Tuttle’s, I will never know.

Planting the garden and sinking all the way down to my waist in the soil. Being assigned certain rows to take care of. Our Saturday jobs, Dad teaching me how to spray off the patio. Cleaning the boy’s bathroom for 14 years, you guys are sick suckers.

Spilling over the bathtub and Rich, Joni and I sliding on our bare bums across the floor. Sitting in the sick, getting ready for school. Tanis doing her bangs with one curl forward and one curl back. I hated that and she would always try to get me to do it. Perms at the beauty college.

Peaches or pears in the morning. Oatmeal and scrambled egg sandwiches with hot cocoa on Sunday nights. Soup on Wednesday made by Dad because Mom was teaching dance.

Oh the adventures during Sparkettes. Fergs gas stations, looking for money so that I could buy a treat when we walked to Fergs, we were the only customers that went to Fergs. Dancing on the stage while mom taught dance. Thinking Mom and Aunt Tammy’s Batman dancing outfits were the coolest things ever!

Playing games with the cousins. Playing at the Beckstrands and everyone needed at stick so I found one in the backyard. Uncle Jim got really angry because someone had broken of the brand new tree they had just planted, yes that was me. I didn’t tell and I am still scared that he is going to find out. I broke it off half way down, funny! But one of the scariest moments of my life! Tanis almost breaking her nose playing football with the boy cousins, Ashley actually breaking her nose trying to dive over the couch!!!!! HAAHAHAHAH

Playing club in the trees at the church with Brooke and Adrian. Tanis being the President of course, Adrian the sec. Brooke, the look out for the boys because she could climb the highest and I was the treasurer. We didn’t know what that meant so I just sat there. Tanis always wanting her pretend name to be “Samantha, but call me Sam” and me always being Jadesse. Me always getting the red headed doll at Christmas and Tanis always getting the blonde. Happened like 5 times, no lie.

Joni’s baseball games and softball in the summers. The lights at the field and going down whenever they were on. Having the whole town come out when they were on. Going to Ty’s football games and having tumbling wars at the end zone with the opposing team’s siblings. Of course killing them, thank you Cathy Sheridan!

So many, I could keep going for days!!!!! I will and then post them.

There are just too many...............

So I have decided I better just start ranting off my memories since being pregnant doesn't make for the greatest memory....thoughts come and go in the same instant.

Summer Sleepouts: waking up, smashed in the center of the trampoline. Setting up the tent in the backyard for weeks on end....taking it down and having a huge yellow spot in the lawn. Sleeping on the deck at the new house and trying to talk myself out of the fact that I was scared because of the cemetery.

Tyler coming home from his mission thinking that all americans were completely selfish and rude. Our trip to visit Jimmy bags in DC where we found our "niche" and Tyler coming home and falling in love with a girl from Beaver because she owned a sewing machine.

Making mud pies out of sand on the fan in the backyard.

Tyler shooting Marci in the chest with his BB gun when she was only 4. Him sitting on the chair in the kitchen by the fridge for hours on end thinking, "will I ever not be grounded?"

Being awake at home when Mom and Dad found out that Tyler really wasn't sleeping over at Peter White's house and that he was somewhere in between Scipio and Richfield and the phone call that accompanied that knowledge. The Tuttle temper at complete boiling point and the worry that I was going to get candy striping duty at the hospital too because I was simply in the room.

Marci jumping on the four wheeler for yet another ride that ended in tragedy. Seeing bricks fall off the side of the house as she put it in reverse and the poor faucet out back that never stood straight again..........

Smelling the fumes of gas as Grandpa Tuttle would fill up his white truck and the ancient, red and blue, 60's pumps out back.

Stealing raspberries from Ruth's yard with Adrian and Brooke when we knew she wasn't home. Bad, but they tasted soooooo good.

Standing on the roof of the Tuttle's house, with everyone below telling me to JUMP!! Me waiting there until I saw the blue truck with the light blue stripe coming down the road. Jumping and then all running for our lives as Ken pulled into the driveway.

Playing "hotel" on the speaker system in Grandma Tuttle's house.

Watching "Meet me in St. Louis" at Grandma Condie's house......while eating a Schwann's bar. It is still my favorite show and does the Schwann man still exist? I love him.

Being in the basement of Nina's house and seeing the enormous stuffed Wilie Coyote for the first time. I still have nightmares and fear that my hatred toward all wolves stems from this childhood experience.

Sitting behind the couch, pouting. Hence the name, pouty pig.

Playing "babysitters club" in the big tree by the pavillion at the church.

Riding our bikes down cemetery hill, seeing how far we could coast without peddling. My brothers riding Joni's pink doll buggy down thinking they were funny and ending with an horrible crash.

Yelling down the vent in the hall at the red house to tell people they were wanted on the phone.

Sleeping in the hallway EVERY sunday for a nap. Thank you dad for instilling that in me. I love it.

Driving the car down to choir before I had my license and sliding on ice right into the side of Uncle Dave's red pathfinder....aka our "panther". Having to find Aunt Kris in the church to give her the bad news. I thought I was going to die and never be able to drive again.

Kicking Cordell out of the car because of sheer annoyance as we were driving to Scipio to take Nicole home from school. Finding out when I got home that he walked the entire way from the north exit to his house without being picked up.

Watching from Cordell's roof as Tyler, Courtney and Cordell shot off rockets with barbies attached from the middle of main street in Holden.

Counting out hundreds of penny candies from the bins behind Max's counter. The smell of the produce room at Wood's and getting creamies from the frozen bin right inside the door. Forging mom's name one million times on checks and having Max just smile and send it through. Mom knew the majority of the time...........

Attempting to be just as tough as my brother as I ran down the face of an enormous slide in Cedar while at Sparkette competition......then crashing and tearing my knee apart. Instead of taking the option for stitches, I wrapped my knee and went out and performed my little heart out to "Let's hear it for the boys".

Singing "Can't get enough of this everyday weeding" with Richard as we would weed the garden every morning of the summer at 6 am. That job never ended and I am still not sure why it was always only Richard and I.

Having dad wake us up the day we were to leave for Lake Powell and telling Richard and I that we were in charge of having the boat completely packed and ready to go by the time he got back from Salt Lake. Still wondering why it was always me and Richard..........

Sleeping down at Jill and Penny's house in the 5th wheel on the last day of school. Waking up to knocking at the window and who knows what hour and finding all of Tyler's friends hanging out, while they were supposed to be sleeping up at the new house. Then seeing the sheer terror on their faces as they saw the white truck flying down the road, looking for them. And then there was the barracade that was set up at the top of the stairs so that dad would hear them if they tried to escape again.

K- so this is it for now, but I seriously have a million more. I will post again tomorrow.

Tyler's First Post- Memories of Holden

Uncle Jim getting mad at Josh and Derek for using the boxing gloves he gave them for Christmas to hit each other.

Throwing a dead robin, Josh Bennett’s and my first registered kill with my new BB gun- into Kristy’s birthday party when we were 8.

The powerhouse backfield of my 8th grade football team- Courtney, Josh Bennett, and...Kevin Stevens.

Putting black baling twine up in the trees and getting scouts from the other wards to chase us back to our camps- and the rope burns on their necks at flag ceremony the next morning.

The chill of adrenaline shooting into my bloodstream when Courtney called to tell me the cops were on their way up the hill 2 weeks after the pumpkin incident.

Hurtling through the air after wrecking Tim Carling’s stupid waverunners- paying my entire summer’s wages to him.

Trying not to laugh when Uncle Ken called me and asked if Courtney was “sniffing drugs” after an experiment with ground-up model rocket engines went south on us.

The look on Thane Bennett’s face when he opened up his “Preference Dance Matching shirt” and realizing it had been replaced with an assortment of Kristy Bennett’s underwear.

Watching Madeline try not to laugh as she hit Josh, Courtney, and I with a broom.

Practicing survival skills by cooking and eating grasshopper legs with Rick Bennett’s blowtorch.

Madeline backing up their old brown thunderbird for us to take out to the dump when we were 13 and knocking over the fire hydrant.

Snooping in Terrell’s backyard with Cody and Camm to find the marijuana plants we knew would be there so we could collect the $25,000 reward.

Making the majors one year ahead of the rest of my grade and becoming friends with Jim and Wade.

Being arrested along with the rest of my teachers quorum for spotlighting rabbits.

Having Frank Thomas come into our sunday school class to lay down the law.

Hunter Ed safety videos- more violent and disturbing than any R-rated movie.

Wondering to this day if I have a chemically accelerated form of cancer from cleaning out the fertilizer tanks in Milford- and the responsible dumping of a myriad of unknown chemical compounds into the ditch.

Thanking Heavenly Father when we found out Erica was pregnant with Porter that years of chemical exposure had not rendered me sterile.

Riding a 4 wheeler stolen by Bullfrog and wrecking the crap out of it-my first run-in with the law.

Nick Bennett stabbing Jaime Thomas in the chest and crying triumphantly- “Watch milk come out!” after her brother Danny had wrecked our treehouse.

Courtney totally selling us up the river when we shot out the window of that old crappy VW bug. Walking up to Max’s house fully expecting to never return.

Geoge Masner getting kicked in the foot by Lucas Steven’s horse and everyone teasing him about the way he “ howled like a coyote” as we sat waiting to pass the sacrament.

Joann Nebeker calling coooooordeeeellllllll! when you’d call him on the phone.

Scout Camp with Dean Bennett and Dean North- what a couple of weirdos.

Running away to hide in the potato fields when Steve or Dave outed my crush on Wendy Christensen. I wanted to kill them- for alot of reasons- not just that.

Grandma Condie hitting David with the broom after he broke my arm- thinking : “this might be the one that makes them get rid of him”

Crying in the car on the way to the doctor after I barfed in first grade and was going to miss “Chocolate Milk Day” at school lunch. Mom took me to the store to get me some. I barfed it up too.

Calling up Chad Strong to come play the Legend of Zelda with me because deep down inside it kind of scared me.

Jumping over the couch when I realized that Super Mario Bros. 2 was in my stocking at Christmas- getting stabbed in the foot with some scissors that one of the girls left out. I didn’t care.

Trying to get Josh to not tell anyone when derek almost knocked him out with a nintendo controller- Josh’s stories about rabies.

Sleeping in the tent for 4 months while the house was being built- sneaking out with Cody and Camm to tie up Connie Bennett’s goat in some random place.

Wondering if Derek would grow up to be a serial Killer after pining hundreds of box elder bugs to the back fence and poking out their rabbit’s eye.

Note to future parents- not a good thing to have a virtually limitless supply of black powder hanging around with pre-teen boys in the house. I think I still have shards of PVC under my skin from trying to “make a cannon”.

My earliest run-in with the law- using my knowledge of physics and natural leadership skills to assemble a lunch-time army of lincoln-log catapults with the goal of delivering shock and awe to Ada Jackson’s construction-paper turkey that Mrs. Wood had hung from a string that ran across our ceiling in first grade.

Trying to make pencils stick in the asbestos ceiling tiles in every class from 1st to 8th grade.

Kevin Stevens getting hit on the butt by the woodshop teacher in 7th grade- perpetuating rumors about that teacher’s sexual orientation.

Kevin mooning an entire troop of scouts from Orem in the High Uintas- my first real gang-style brawl. Dean and Dean chastising us for our violence. Us thinking they were weird. Then later putting a whole brick of black-cats in front of their tent at 3 am. I think they got our message. By the way- is it weird they shared a tent?

All my friends thinking that Kevin’s B-Day party was the greatest- Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom- until Peter White barfed up his pink ice cream during the part where they are eating “chilled monkey brains” and triggering a barf chain reaction that you can probably still smell in their basement.

Cordell was probably such an innocent little schmuck before he moved to Holden- little did he know he would make friends with Cody, Camm, and the rest of us. His mom probably thought we were all on drugs.

Asking specifically for a two-stage Estes Model Rocket with a payload section so Courtney and I could study the effects of sending up live mice and anything else we could cram into that payload. Wondering what the mouse would tell his mouse family about his abduction by aliens after he returned from the sky unharmed.

I could go on all night, but I better go spend some time with my wife before she reads all of this and wants to leave me.

Joni's trip down memory lane.....

Ok so I thought I would post some memories even though my memories may not include everyone because I'm the baby of the fam, but I still wanted to post something. So here it goes......

Having Marci and Tanis catch me during my fantasy of being Ariel by the pond outside while singing Part of your world..

Getting to sleep by "Stop and Listen to the music" Still one of my favorite songs.

Sharing a queen size bed with both of my sisters.

Crying while richard practiced his wrestling moves on me. I always ended up crying.

Being called the pit baby.

Being tied up to the basketball hoop by rich, but being rescued by jimmy bo bags during choir. Thanks Jim.

Always wanting to be a princess for halloween while Amber was something extremely scary that would still give me nightmares probably.

Tyler and Richard leaving me to go play baseball. What they don't know is I was not alseep but rather crying in mom's bathroom because you left me. Still love you both.

Amber's Persias stories. Everyone remembers the orange soda story.....

Being freaked out that Y2K was going to hit, and we were all going to die. Thank heavens for Y2-Kelly!!!!!!

Running away from John Larsen, while he was babysitting me, all the way to the church to find my mom. He followed me in the truck as I bawled my way to find my mom. I was a momma's girl right fromt the start.

Getting baptized by my big brother Tyler, and feeling so cool that he could do it.

The night before we left for europe, finding that I had scraped mom's car all the way down the passenger side and hearing "Joni get in here". I was mortified.

A couple months later getting in an acident on the freeway, and again bawling my eyes out.

But then good thing we didn't get the car fixed because a month later mom hit black ice and smashed into Pat's car. Good old Max and Pat.

Getting string cheese and chocolate milk at Wood's Market.

Driving with mom everyday to ballet. Wouldn't trade that for the world.

Living with Tanis and Tim in lindon and watching Beauty and the Geek. You know what I am talking about tim.

While waiting in the waiting room, finally getting the call that Hudson was born. Tan you are amazing, and I miss our summers together.

Meeting Erica for the first time at the Winter Olympics opening ceremony, and freezing literally to death.

Performing Alan's piece, choreographer from new york, on stage in SLC and realizing I want to do this for the rest of my life. It was pure bliss on that stage.

Marci and I choreographing in the basement during Christmas break. Got to love those times.

Seeing Marci's thesis concert, and getting teary eyed because my sister is so awesome, and I hope to be like her someday.

Dad wispering in my ear, "You were beautiful".....

Coming back stage after Legend of Timpanogos, and mom is bawling because she is so proud of me. Mom and dad it is all because of you. Thank you.

Being able to stay at Richard and Shelane's house which I am doing at the moment, and am going to go to sleep now but I hope you enjoyed some of my memories. I love you all so much and miss you always.

HERE ARE JUST THE BEGINNINGS OF MY MUSINGS!

Watching Richard come up for our 2 pages of the Book of Mormon ritual with the blanket over his head, slam down on the big couch and wondering to myself, "is he getting anything out of this" and hoping heaven will help us.

Feeling the roar of the engine and the feel of the road under me as I became DERBY DAD each Friday going to football, wrestling and of course drill team competitions.

Feeling once again that after much planning, debating and preparation every time we poured cement the, "IT'S GETTING AWAY FROM US!"

The sheer terror of Marci running up to mom and me with the letter spike stuck clear through the palm of her hand, well almost. The skin was stretched on the backside about an inch but hadn't come through. I told her to look away and quickly pulled it out.

State Championship Football Games!! Two Senior Boys-Two Champions, It doesn't get better than that!!!!

Remembering saying "this is going to hurt me more than you" just after the boys had chosen their willows and were about to get whacked.

Waking up one fine fall morning in the fifth wheel and looking down on Richard to see his face smothered with honey that had been dripping on his face all night.

Wondering what in the crap was going to happen when we would wake Richard up to go to bed. What would it be? Sleep walking? A few simple mumbles? Or some horrendous ordeal?

Tanis screaming at a tone only dogs could hear until it came down into human range and wondering how are we going to survive this? And better yet, how are we going to break her of this?

Praying each day that Joni and Mom would get back from ballet safely.

Paying off the leases of 2 consecutive cars that were over mileage by HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of miles.

Watching Tyler and Richard try to sleep on the tanks between loads out on the runway.

Watching Tyler jump off the big tank down on a smaller one and break right thru it into potassium hydroxide of 14 ph!!!

Cleaning Tanks!!!!! THE JOY of unadvanced Ag!!

The exhilaration of a Millard High School Drill Team Championship and the agony of defeat!

Watching the kids jump off the big tanks onto the tramp.

Watching the kids and adults scatter when I unhooked Duke.

I savor the memories of those wonderful days in the garden, trying to teach the kids how and what to weed out.

How beautiful the girls looked in their Prom Dresses.

Sunday afternoon naps. It was and is the best. I need one right now, BYE

LOVE, DAD

A Challenge

Ok, so I stumbled upon the Tuttle's blog the other day. I think I linked onto it through Steph's blog or something, but it was absolutely hilarious reading some of the entries. Essentially they all took an entry and wrote their top ten memories of growing up- actually it ended up being about 50 entries for each of them, but honestly I was cracking up when I was reading them.....especially when it came to the entry about who stole Uncle Ken's Fresca......classic. But it honestly brought back so many memories that I had completely forgot about. So this is my challenge. I want each of you to write their top memories down and publish it to this blog. They don't have to be long at all. Most of them were one sentence that basically summed it up. I have started thinking about it since I read some of there things, and I honestly have come up with a million things. It doesn't take long. You each have the deadline if Sunday to finish. I have started just writing things down when I think of them on a piece of paper and then I type them all up. Anyway, I think this will be a fun exercise and a stroll down memory lane.

I love you and miss you all. I hate when we are together and then have to separate. We had such a good time in Cali. I will post some of my pics here.

Love you,

Tanis

I CAUGHT YOU A DELICIOUS BASS!!!!

Just had to get on and post some pics of my big stinky bass I caught this weekend at Sand Hollow in St George. We went down and stayed one night in Mom and Dads resort, which was very cool, and then spent one night with Phil and Aubrey in Cedar. We had a blast and the fishin was awesome!! We would just sneek through the shallows and spot the big lunkers in bushes and then cast at them. Then we got to watch as they would smash our baits and then set the hook! Good times. I caught 9 over 2 pounds and several in the one pound range. My biggest, and the biggest of the two days, weighed in at a whopping 4.1 pounds and measured 20 inches.
